By H. Heather

Ingredients:
6 cups flour
1/4 lb. butter
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 tablespoon baking powder
Dash of salt
2 1/2 cups water (for making dough)
6 cups pure corn oil (for frying candies)
Dash of grated nutmeg

(Items for boiling before mixing in candies)
2 cups water
2 1/4 cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
Directions:
Measure 6 cups flour in a large mixing bowl.
Add all dry ingredients and mix.
Add butter and mix well.
Add water and knead for about 5 minutes and stand for 5 to 7 minutes.
Make 2 doughs.
Roll each dough out on a board and cut in long strips and roll.
Cut in small 1" pieces for deep frying (sprinkle flour to keep from sticking).
Deep fry until golden brown.
Drain and place in 3 quart mixing bowl.
Boil water with sugar and cinnamon sticks for about 10 to 12 minutes until a stringy consistency appears dripping from the spoon.
Pour over already cooked candy and mix thoroughly with wooden spoon until sugar sticks to candies.
Add grated nutmeg and mix until for a few minutes.
Let it stand for 5 minutes.
Serve as a dessert or snack.
