cut up dck or 2 lbs. spareribs
1/2 c. vinegar
4 qts water
2 tbsp salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 handfuls raisins
1 dozen prunes
5 whole allspice
2 whole cloves
1 c. ducks blood mixed with 1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. flour (mix with blood & viniger till smooth

© Place duck parts in large soup pot & cover with water.Bring to a boil. Skim foam from top. Cook for 1 hour.Combine all ingredients except raisins & blood mixture. Cook until meat is almost tender.,add raisins till done. Slowly blend1 cup soup with blood mixture .Pour this mixture into pot of soup,stirring constantly so it won't curdle. put back on heat,bring to a boil & simmer 1/2 hour.
This is a good basic recipe. Individurals differ as to amount of sugar & viniger

INSTEAD OF DUCK BLOOD YOU CAN TAKE 2-3 CUPS COOLED BROTH,ADD 17 OZ APPLE BUTTER,STIR.ADD FLOUR & MIX .ADD TO SOUP TO THICKEN.
