12 oz. bag fresh cranberries
1-1/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
zest of 1 orange

Directions:
Directions:
In a large heavy sauce pot, add the following:
sugar
water
spices

Cook, stirring often until sugar dissolves, syrup is clear and comes to a rolling boil (approximately 3 minutes)

In a colander, rinse cranberries

Add cranberries to boiling syrup and continue to cook uncovered just until the cranberries begin to pop (approximately 2 - 3 minutes)

DO NOT COOK TO LONG OR THE CRANBERRIES WILL GET MUSHY

Remove from heat, stir in orange zest and cool, uncovered

Store in glass or plastic containers.

This makes approximately 2-1/2 cups

This will last in the refrigerator for about 2 months
