1/4 c butter
2 c. uncooked rice
1 10 1/2 oz can consomme diluted with 1 can water
or 3 bouillon cubes dissolved in 2 3/4 cups water
1 8 oz. can mushrooms
1 T. chopped parsley
1-2 tsp. salt
Dash of thyme and marjoram

Melt butter in iron skillet or Dutch oven; add rice and saute until golden brown, stirring constantly. Stir in remaining ingredients; pour into a buttered casserole. Bake 45 min. at 350 degrees, covered. (May be prepared early and put in oven 45 mins before serving time.)
