2 cups flour
1 1/4 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or other solid shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs well beaten
2 squares chocolate (melted)
3/4 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1//3 cup boiling water
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once, add soda, salt and sift 3 times. Work butter until
creamy, add sugar gradually and beat until light, add eggs and
blend well. add chocolate and mix thoroughly. Add flour
alternately with sour milk beating until smooth after each addition,
add vanilla, add boiling water and beat in well. Bake in moderate
oven for 45 minutes.
