1 bunch fresh asparagus
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
2 T. vegetable oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
3/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted

Directions:
Directions:
To toast almonds, put on baking sheet in 350º oven for 3-5 minutes. Watch carefully. Prepare a bowl of ice water then place asparagus in boiling water and then immediately drain and place in ice water to stop the cooking process. (This keeps the asparagus firm and crunchy.) Cut asparagus into 2 inch pieces. Toss with dressing and serve immediately or chill.
