1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3-1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in flour, baking powder and salt which have been sifted together. Chill the dough at least 3 hours or overnight. Roll dough out on a lightly floured pastry canvas with a stockinet covered rolling pin to 1/8-1/4 inch thickness. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

This sugar cookie recipe may be put through a cookie press, but do not chill dough.

Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
