Directions:
Pat mixture (except brownie mix) in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes and remove from oven. While cookie layer is baking, mix brownies according to directions on box. Spread over cookie layer and bake according to directions on box.

Optional caramel topping:
Place 14-ounces unwrapped caramels and 2 tablespoons milk into microwavable dish. Microwave on high 2-1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 minutes. Stir until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended. Gently spread over hot, baked brownies in pan; sprinkle with semi-sweet chocolate chunks.

Another optional topping:
While brownies are baking, unwrap a bag of Andes or Ghiradelli Chocolate Mints. As soon as you remove brownies from oven, lay chocolate mints over top of brownies; wait until they have melted, then gently swirl over top of brownies.
