12 cups shredded squash
4 cups chopped onion
2 cups chopped green peppers
2 large jars pimentos
5 tablespoon salt
2-1/2 cups vinegar
1 tablespoon pickling spices
1 teaspoon tumeric
6 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all vegetables and sprinkle with salt. Allow to sit overnight. Drain and rinse with 1 cup of cold water, drain well. Mix the vinegar, spices, and tumeric. Bring to boil and boil for 5 minutes. In very large cooking pan, strain mixture over 6 cups of sugar. Stir until sugar has melted and brought to a boil. Add vegetables to pan and bring back to boil. Place in hot sterilized canning jars and seal.
