3 Egg Whites
1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
6 T. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Whip egg whites with cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually beat in sugar. Add vanilla. Beat until stiff and glossy. Pile onto pie filling, sealing edges well. Bake at 400º for 8 -10 minutes or until lightly browned. Watch carefully! Cool gradually in a slightly warm place. A chill may make the meringue fall.
