"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cans crescent rolls (the regular flavored ones)
2 large Granny Smith Apples (I use Golden Delicious)
2 sticks butter (room temperature)
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 can Mountain Dew, 7-up, or Sprite

Directions:
Directions:
Cut each apple into 8 slices. Roll each piece separately in crescent roll and lay side by side in a glass baking dish. (Best if they don’t touch)

Cream sugar, butter, and cinnamon and pour onto the apple rolls. Pour Mountain Dew over entire pan and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until rolls are lightly browned.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Excellent served with ice cream or whipped cream.

Similar to old-fashioned Apple Dumplings

Important Tip:
Put a pan or a piece of heavy duty foil under the baking dish. This recipe cooks over and will make a terrible mess in your oven.
