Pickled Banana Peppers Recipe

Banana peppers
1 T. salt
2 cloves garlic, sliced
3 black peppercorns
1/2 t. alum
1/4 t. tumeric
1 very large pickling jar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash peppers, remove the tops, core out the seeds and slice in half. Put all the above ingredients into the large pickling jar. Stuff as many peppers as possible into the jar. Bring to a boil a mixture of 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar. Pour the boiling mixture into the jar so that the peppers are covered and seal the jar.
Turn the jar upside down several times to dissolve the solid ingredients.
Let cool, refrigerate and enjoy.
This product will last up to 5 years.
