1 1/4 cups pecans, divided
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (about 4)
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Toast pecans for 12 - 15 minutes @ 350º. Beat butter and cream cheese until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine flours, and next 4 ingredients. Gradually add to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk. Beat at low speed just until blended, Stir in bananas, 3/4 cup pecans and vanilla. Do not over beat. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8x4 loaf pans. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake 1 hour @ 350º. Shield with aluminum foil last 15 minutes if loaves look like they are getting to brown.
