Ingredients:  
1 T butter
2 T shallot minced
1 t garlic minced
3 T butter
2 c sliced fresh mushrooms
1 c beef broth
1/3 c red wine
1T Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
1/4 t chopped fresh thyme
salt & pepper to taste
1 T flour or cornstarch to thicken

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1 T butter over medium heat. Stir in shallot and garlic. Cook til the shallot is softened & translucent. Add remaining 3 T butter & stir in mushrooms & cook to soften. Pour in beef broth, wine, Worcestershire sauce, thyme & bay leaf. Bring to simmer over high heat season with salt & pepper reduce to medium high heat& cook uncovered to reduce slightly about 30 minutes. Dissolve flour or cornstarch in water and add to simmering sauce to desired thickening. Remove bay leaf before serving.
