1 cup dark baking molasses
1 tablespoon baking soda
2 cups hot water
4 cups flour
¾ cup Crisco
2 cups dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together. Reserve about ¼ cup for top of cake.
Mix the liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients. It will foam.
Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle remaining dry ingredients over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes.
