oil for frying
Edam cheese, about 1/2" thick slices
flour
egg for egg wash
breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper

Directions:

Heat oil in a frying pan, coat the cheese slices in flour, dip in the egg wash and coat in seasoned breadcrumbs.
Fry, flipping carefully, using two spatulas.
This takes a very short time so don't walk away :)

This is a very popular Slovak dish. It is traditionally served with french fries and tartar sauce and may also be prepared with a thin slice of ham sandwiched between two slices of cheese.
When in Europe, this is a Carnoky family favorite despite the caloric overload on the system.
