8 large potatoes
2 eggs
flour, enough to hold together
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Boil potatoes (whole); drain and peel. After ricing potatoes with ricer, add eggs, flour (enough to hold dumplings together) and nutmeg.

Before forming mixture into balls, boil water in large pot. Keep flouring hands so that dumplings are floured before dropping into boiling. Dumplings are ready when they rise to the top of water.

Mom passed this recipe onto me. Potato dumplings are delicious with sauerbraten and in lamb stew.
