2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Chocolate icing:
1 stick butter
4 Tblsp. cocoa
1/3 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and flour in large mixing bowl. Combine butter, shortening, cocoa and water in saucepan, bring to boil and pour into flour mixture. Beat with mixer and add rest of cake ingredients. Pour batter into greased 9x13" or larger pyrex baking dish. bake at 425 for 15 min.
Icing: Heat butter, cocoa, milk and salt in saucepan and bring to boil, then immediately remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Gradually beat in powdered sugar, until all lumps are gone. Pour over warm cake quickly. This is a rich, milk chocolate icing that melts in your mouth!
