3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 quart milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
10 cups stale 1-inch French or Italian bread crumbs (about 12 ounces)
1 1/2 cup raisins
Bourbon Whiskey Sauce or Tart Lemon Sauce

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat eggs until frothy, beat in sugar. Add milk, vanilla and nutmeg; mix thoroughly. Add bread and raisins; toss. Set aside 15 minutes. Generously butter 9 x 12 x 2 inch baking dish. Pour bread mixture into pan; smooth top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Serve warm or room temperature with Bourbon Whiskey Sauce
or Tart Lemon Sauce.
