½ cup shortening
½ cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 ¼ cup rolled oats
½ cup raisins or dates

Directions:
Directions:
Cream first 5 ingredients. Blend flour and soda. Stir in oats and raisins. Divide, shape, wrap and cool. Cut ¼” and bake at 350˚F on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes.
