Salami
Sour dough French rolls
Cream Cheese

Cut off ends of small French rolls (sourdough is best) and scoop out most of the dough from centers. Fill with mixture of salami chunks processed with cream cheese, packed down. Use meat grinder or food processor to process salami and cheese.

Wrap in foil and chill well. Cut with bread knife into slices and serve.

This was a Daly tradition. I remember Denise even had them at her wedding to Roger on Long Island (1974). The wedding was also Mamie’s first experience with fresh clams. Roger’s uncle had gone out clamming that morning and brought them to the reception, which was at a beach club right on the ocean. He spent the entire event opening clams,expertly,,and Mamie loved them—as did Jim and Bob.
