1/4 c white sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 small bottle merashino cherries
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
salt (pinch)
1/2 c walnuts
2 tsp melted butter
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Drain juice from the cherries and add milk to make 1 c liquid. Combine with all the other ingredients. Bake at 325º F till toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
