1 1/2 lbs ground sirloin
1/2 c chopped green pepper
6 cups water
1/3 cup barley
3 beef bouillon cubes
1/8 tsp pepper
2 c sliced carrots
2 bay leaves
1 1/2 c chopped onion
1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 c chopped celery
1 8 oz can tomato sauce

Directions:
Directions:
In soup pot, brown ground beef; drain well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer 1 hour or until vegetables and barley are tender. Makes 10 servings, 1 1/2 cups each. Freezes well.
