1 lb linguine
1 6 oz bottle clam juice (use less)
1/4 cup olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
1 tsp anise seeds
2 6 1/2 oz cans minced clams
18 sm clams scrubbed (little neck, cockles)
1/2 cup dry white wine (use much more)
Fresh parsley, thyme and oregano

Heat oil over medium heat, and sauté garlic, hot pepper and anise. Add clams and white wine. Increase heat to high and boil. Cover and cook 5-7 minutes or until clams open. Remove whole clams and add herbs. Reduce heat to low. Add linguine and toss.
