3Tbsp. bacon drippings
6 cups of shredded red cabbage(1 medium head)
3 cups of small cubed peeled apple (3 medium)
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup of water
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
3/4 tsp caraway seeds

Heat bacon drippings in a large skillet. Add cabbage and apples. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over cabbage mixture. Cover tightly and cook over low heat , stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Serve immediately.
