"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Personal Notes:
My Mama used to keep these on hand all the time and could whip up a batch in no time for unexpected company. They are a very simple cookie and I believe they were started when ingredients were scarce during World War II. They hold many fond memories for me as a child and I wanted to pass them on to my children and grandchildren.
This photo was taken at a family reunion when Jo and Roy came down to Texas. Happy times for all of us: Roy, Papaw, Uncle George, Grandma Cherry, Aunt Jo, me and Aunt Joyce.
