Cake:
1 1/2 c hot water
1 c quick oats
1/2 c shortening
1 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c flour
1 tsp vanilla

Cake Frosting:
6 tbs melted butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Mix hot water and quick oats. Let stand 20 minutes.
Cream together: shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, and eggs. Add soda, cinnamon, salt and flour. Add oat mixture and vanilla.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350
Cake Frosting:
Heat all in saucepan until well mixed. Spread over cake and cook until coconut is browned.
