1 pint buttermilk
1 Tbsp shortening
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 heaping tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Add buttermilk, shortening, soda, baking powder, and salt. Cut together. Start adding flour, enough to make a dough. Kneed until smooth. Add to floured bread board. Roll to a 1/2" thickness. Divide into portions as you like. Cook in hot fat like you would doughnuts, 2-3 at a time. Make sure the fat is not too hot. Serve plain or with preserves or honey.
