1/2 lb. cream cheese
Heavy cream to moisten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 lb. butter
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
2 3/4 cups flour (unsifted)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Make well in center of flour.
2. Add ingredients to well. Butter should not be ice cold nor so soft that it is oily.
3. Using fingertips, make a paste of center ingredients, gradually incorporating flour to make a firm, smooth ball of dough.
