Crust:
3 cups flour
1 cup Crisco
Dash salt
Add enough ice water to form ball

Pie:
7 medium green cooking apples
1 3/4 cup brown sugar
1/6 of fresh lemon
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbs. butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix crust ingredients together.
2. Roll 1/2 of dough for bottom crust. Use the other 1/2 dough for top crust.
3. Fit bottom crust into 9” glass pie plate.
4. Slice apples and mix with sugar and spices.
5. Squeeze lemon juice over sugar and spice.
6. Place in pie shell. Dot with butter.
7. Cover with top crust.
8. Bake 450° for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350° for 40 minutes.

I find adding 2 more apples and cutting the sugar down to 1 1/4 is better, but this was Great-Grandma's recipe...
