1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 - 15 oz. can pure pumpkin
1 - 8 oz. sour cream
3 eggs, at room temperature (separated)
9 in. pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Combine the sugar, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add pumpkin and sour cream, stir well. Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored; stir into pumpkin mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into pumpkin mixture. Pour into pie crust. Bake for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350 degrees F. and bake 55 minutes or until set. Yields one 9 in. pie.
