1/2 C. Sugar
1/4 C. White Karo Syrup
2 T. Water
2 Egg Whites
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar, syrup, and water in saucepan. Bring to boil until it spins a 6 to 8 inch thread. Beat egg whites. Add hot syrup. Beat u til it holds a peak. Blend in vanilla.

Personal Notes:
Mom (Margaret) used to make this as icing on cakes while I was young. I can remember it tasted like meringue. I still have a picture with me crawling up to my birthday cake as an infant and discovering my first cake with this icing.
