Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Drop by spoon and press with fork, roll in balls and flatten with bottom of glass greased and dipped in sugar, or roll on floured surface and cut into shapes. Sprinkle with white sugar, colored sugar or sprinkles. Bake at 325º for 12 to 15 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I mix these by hand. This recipe was submitted to the Bethany ARP Bicentennial Cookbook as "Aunt Lula's Sugar Cookies" by Wynelle Smith. I have made thousands of these over the years for Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in every imaginable shape. I have found that rolling a small amount of dough at a time works best so that there is as little as possible extra flour mixed in. Also, I use a pastry brush to help loosen the edges of the cookies from the floured surface and to brush any excess flour from the cookies.
