1 cup mashed potatoes
or instant potato flakes
1 cup cooking oil
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1 pkg. active dry yeast
3 cups warm water
2 tsp. baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour
additional all-purpose flour to total 4-5 cups

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine potatoes or flakes, oil, sugar and salt. Sprinkle yeast over this mixture; add the 3 cups of warm water and stir until all yeast is dissolved. Add baking powder to 3 cups of flour and combine with liquid mixture. The batter will begin to bubble. Add flour, one cup at a time until the dough becomes very stiff as you stir. Dough should be smooth and glossy. Grease top of dough with oil; cover and refrigerate. It will rise in refrigerator, so punch dough down. Take desired amount, roll and cut out as you do for biscuits. Let them rise until double in size. Bake at 400º until golden brown. Dough will keep in refrigerator for 2 weeks.
