Fresh or frozen purple hull peas (enough for a meal)
Bacon (3 pieces cut in 1/2)
Chicken broth
Salt
Garlic powder
Optional: Okra (small whole or chopped).

Directions:
Directions:
Put peas in medium size sauce pan. Add bacon and cover completely with with chicken broth. Season with garlic powder and salt. (Taste and season as needed). Cook until peas are tender. Add more broth as needed. When peas are almost done you can add some small pieces of whole or chopped okra and cook until it's done.
