2 1/2 Cups sugar
1/2 Cup White Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup Water
2 Egg Whites
1 Tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, syrup and water in saucepan. Place over low heat and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved. When boiling, put in thermometer and cook to 240º or boil without stirring until syrup spins a thread when small amount is dropped from tip of fork. Remove from heat and pour gradually over stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Add vanilla. Beat until icing holds it's shape or stands in peaks.

Variations:
Fruity: Add to frosting, 1/4 cup each of chopped nuts, dates, coconut and candied cherries.

Nutty: Add 1/2 cup chopped nutmeats.

Coconut: Add 1 cup shredded coconut.
