1 1/2 lbs. Swiss chard (1 large bunch)
1 T olive oil
1 T butter
1 medium onion
1 can Cannellini beans or Great Northern beans
1/2 tsp salt, divided
1/2 tsp pepper, divided

Directions:
Directions:
Cut stems and center ribs from the chard. Discard any tough pieces. Cut remaining stems and ribs into 1" pieces. Stack the leaves then roll lengthwise. Cut roll into 3/4" wide strips then rough chop the strips.
Heat oil in a large heavy pot, over medium heat. Add onion and 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. Cover and cook until onion is soft; stirring often. Add chard stems and ribs then sprinkle with remaining salt and pepper. Replace cover and continue cooking for about 10 minutes; stirring occasionally. Add chopped leaves, cover and cook about 4 minutes, stirring once every 1 minute. Add beans and mix well. Continue cooking until beans are hot, stirring occasionally.
