Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 loaves large white bread
1 onion, chopped
4-5 stalks celery chopped
2 sticks butter
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can chicken broth
2 TBS ground sage

Directions:
Directions:
Several days in advance, tear bread into chunks and place in large bowls, baking pans, etc., to dry out. Pack into 9 x 13 sprayed baking pan.

Saute celery and onions over low-medium heat until clear. Add salt, pepper, and sage, stirring well. Pour over bread and mix thoroughly. Add chicken broth in small amounts, sprinkling over bread and stirring after each addition. You want bread to be moist, but not soggy.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes covered, 15-20 minutes uncovered.

Personal Notes:
This is the stuffing recipe I grew up with, although at Christmas time Grandma Lapole put fresh, shucked oysters in it. You can cut up giblets into it and use the broth from cooking the giblets instead of using canned broth.
