2 c raisins - golden raisins are best
2 c water
1/2 c packed light brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
3 T cornstarch
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 t ground allspice
Pinch of salt
1 T apple cider vinegar
3 T butter
Pie Dough for a 2 crust 9" pie

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º

Put raisins and 2/3 c of water into medium saucepan and heat over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Combine the sugars, cornstarch, spices and salt in medium mixing bowl & stirring constantly, gradually add the remaining 1 1/3 c water. Add this mixture to the raisins. Cook and stir until the mixture starts to bubble. Add the vinegar and butter and heat until the butter is melted. Remove from stove & let cool until just warm.

Pour warm filling into unbaked pie shell and cover with top dough. Cut decorative slash marks into the top crust. Bake until golden brown about 30-35 minutes.

Remove from oven and let cool completely.
