Directions:
Combine all sauce ingredients in pot and bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer 20 minutes.

Season ribs with garlic salt on all sides. Sear on the grill. Cover bottom of broiler pan with a mixture of 1 cup water & 1/4 cup liquid smoke (don't let this touch meat to avoid bitterness). Lightly grease top of broiler pan. Place ribs on pan, then add large slices of onion on top of ribs. Cover ribs tightly with double layer of aluminum foil. Bake at 275º 4-5 hours. Remove from oven. Brush liberally with BBQ sauce and put back on grill for a few minutes. Serve with extra BBQ sauce.

Personal Notes:
You can use spare ribs...baby back ribs have less fat but are more expensive.
