1 lbs Ground Pork or Veal
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp chopped green onions
4 tbsp chopped cilantro
4 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup diced onions
1/2 cup bamboo shoots
1/2 can water chestnuts
2 tsp minced ginger root

2 egg whites beaten (to seal the edges)
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil + enough to fry wontons

Directions:
Directions:
Begin by combining ground meat with the pepper, salt, green onions, cilantro and soy sauce. Once meat mixture is combined, in a skillet on medium heat, add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. Once the oil is heated stir fry ground meat mixture. When meat is partially cooked, add bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and ginger root. Add shrimp, and heat through. Combine sugar and cornstarch with meat mixture and cook until thickened.

Preheat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in deep fryer to 400 degrees F.

Create wontons one at at time by placing one wonton skin on cutting board, angle the wonton skin so that it is in the shape of a diamond. Place 1 tsp of filling in the center of the wonton. Take the beaten egg white and brush on two sides of the wonton skin. Fold wonton in half to create a triangle and press a fork along the edges to seal. Fry wonton on both sides until brown. Let drain and cool on paper towel prior to serving.
