1 1/2 lbs. sauerkraut
Applesauce (optional)
2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. uncooked rice
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 onion, chopped
1 large can peeled tomatoes
2 heads cabbage

Directions:
Directions:
Separate cabbage leaves and boil slightly so you can roll them.
Chop remaining cabbage to add some to meat mixture and some with sauerkraut.
Mix meat, onions, eggs, some chopped cabbage, rice and salt and pepper.
Roll some of the mixture in each cabbage leaf.
Place layer of sauerkraut, chopped cabbage, a bit of applesauce, tomatoes, and rolled cabbage leaves in large pot.
Repeat layers until all gone.
Cook at least 3 hours.
Can also be cooked in crockpot cooking 4 1/2 to 5 hours.
