Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
My ancestor, Governor Oden Bowie, was at a dinner party in Saratoga, New York in 1868. He and his friends agreed to race horses that would be current yearlings in two years' time. The winner would host the losers for dinner. Governor Bowie pledged that he would build a model racecourse in Maryland if they would hold the race in two years in Baltimore. He then built Pimlico Racetrack.
