"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

2 ounces of whiskey
Ginger beer

Directions:
Coat the bottom of a rocks glass/short tumbler with maple syrup. Squeeze half a lime into glass and stir. (Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup. Add a block of ice/ice cubes, and then add two ounces of whiskey and top with ginger beer. Give it one last stir and garnish with a curl of lime peel.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The Nor'easter combines the sweetness of maple syrup with the burn of ginger, plus a touch of lime. This is a great summer whiskey cocktail and is very easy to make…just be sure to buy to a ginger beer that is more burn and less sweet.
