½ c. warm water
½ cup sugar
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 ½ tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. yeast
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups scalded milk
Approx 9 cups flour
½ cup butter/margarine
1 beaten egg for glaze

Directions:
Directions:
Mix water, sugar, and yeast and let raise. Put scalded milk in bowl; add melted butter, sugar, and salt. Mix until dissolved. Add eggs and yeast – mix in flour. Knead well. Let rise. Make into braids and let rise. Brush loaves with a beaten egg. Bake at 350º for approximately 30 minutes.
To braid, lay rolls in a "squished" or "flattened" looking X.
Take both ends of one roll and cross over. Put left over the right – then the next two rolls put right over left and so forth.
