1 pk dry baby Liam bean
1 ham bone or you can use
6 slices thick cut bacon
I slice ham diced into cubes
1 gal cold water
1 yellow onion diced
1 stick butter


Directions:
Directions:
Soak the beans overnight in cold water
Render bacon, remove bacon for Dutch Oven, and break into small pieced
Add diced onion to drippings, and saute until soft
Add beans to bacon mixture and cover with water
Reduce temperature to low and let cook. This will take several hours until the beans
are soft.
when ready to serve add butter and diced ham

The beans we served with cornbread or fresh rolls.
My Aunt Rite often made this on wash day.
