4 apples, peeled and diced
½ c. Shortening
1 c. Sugar
1 Egg
1½ c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Baking Powder

**Topping**
2 tbsp. Cinnamon
2 tbsp. Flour
½ c. Brown Sugar
3 tbsp. Butter, room temp.
½ c. Nuts or Raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugar and egg. Add apples. Fold in flour, baking soda, vanilla, salt and baking powder. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 cake pan.
**Topping**
Mix cinnamon, flour, brown sugar and butter with a fork. Sprinkle over batter in pan. Add nuts or raisins.
Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
