Dough

1 lb butter (room temperature)
5 cups flour
1 cup sour cream
1 packet cake yeast
3 egg yolks

Filling

3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup ground nuts (pecans)
2 tsp vanilla

Dough

1. Place yeast in flour and mix
2. Work in butter like pie dough
3. Mix well with hands
4. Add egg yolks and sour cream, blend well
5. Make 3 logs, wrap in Saran Wrap and chill 1 hour

Filling

1. Beat eggs whites till very stiff
2. Mix in sugar
3. Fold in nuts and vanilla

Cookies

1. Dredge board/counter with powered sugar
2. Cut log into 3 slices
3. Roll each slice into the size of a pie pan
4. Cut into 8 pie shaped wedges
5. Spread filling on each wedge
6. Roll up starting on wide edge (shape into crescent)
7. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes or lightly brown

Once cookies are cool sprinkle with powdered sugar
