Trader Vic's Barbecue Ribs Recipe

3 lbs pork back ribs
3 T. sugar

Plum Sauce:
3 T. soya sauce
½ cup hoison sauce
2 T. sherry
2 T. fine minced ginger
2 T. minced garlic
¼ tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Rub sugar on all sides of the ribs and place the ribs meat side up on a sprayed or greased rack in a foil-lined pan. Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 1¼ hours.

Uncover, drain the pan, remove the rack, and then return the ribs to the pan, meat side up.

Plum Sauce:
Whisk sauce ingredients together.

Spread sauce over ribs coating well.

Bake uncovered, approximately about 45 minutes, or until tender, turning and basting twice.

These ribs were a very popular appetizer at the Trader Vic's restaurant at the Bayshore Hotel in downtown Vancouver for years. Our long-time favourite and so easy to make at home and enjoy.
