2 c. sifted All Purpose Flour
¾ c. Sugar
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Soda
½ tsp. Cinnamon
1 c. coarsely chopped Walnuts
1 Egg, beaten
1 c. medium thick Applesauce
2 tbsp. melted Shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients, add walnuts. In mixing bowl, beat egg, add applesauce and melted shortening. Add dry ingredients. Stir just until blended. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (350º) one hour. Cool on rack.
